Christian Life Assembly

Langley, British Columbia

Christian Life Assembly has always had a heart for missions and that vision continues to expand as we develop relationships and partnerships with ministries around the world.

In 2002, we began a journey of identifying several regions of burden where we felt God was calling us to be involved over an extended period of time: Russia, Southern Africa (Zambia), Estonia, Ethiopia, the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada World Missions Division, and of course, Canada. This is not an exclusive list, but rather enables us to be more intentional and strategic in our missions vision.

Already we are seeing the fruit of this strategy as we work with missionaries and national church leaders-planting churches in both urban and rural areas, discipling people, training leaders and pastors in Bible Colleges and seminars, caring for children orphaned by AIDS and ministering to those bound by alcohol and drug addictions. As nationals and missionaries come to CLA to share their vision, and as CLA short-term teams and personnel go to the various regions, God is giving us a corporate vision of what He is doing, and what He wants to do in our world.

School of World Discipleship

Edmonton, Alberta

God has called this generation to be a generation of world changers. If your desire is to reach the people of the nations for Jesus, then consider the following missions programs at Vanguard’s School of World Discipleship!
During your time here you will be involved in many different types of missions ministry. On average there will be opportunities for up to 12 hours of ministry each week.
Ministry includes:
HMS local ministry trips (all over Alberta, and other Canadian destinations)
HMS international missions trip (5 weeks overseas)
On-campus ministry (chapel, Breakaway Days, Missions Emphasis Days and more)
Ministry events (Missions Fest, UpSwing Children’s Conference, etc)
An extended missions internship experience (Degree Programs only)

Graduates from the HMS and Mission BA programs are employed in a variety of areas.
While HMS is a certificate program and not designed to fully prepare students for full-time missionary service, many students take this valuable year of discipleship and preparation in partnership with education in another vocation. This combination equips students to use their professional education effectively in a missions context.
Currently, we have graduates involved in full time missionary work overseas, and in Canada. Grads work for organizations such as Vanguard College, AsiaSPAN International, Compassion Canada, Frontiers International as well as in various local churches in Canada.

Ontario

Portico

Mississauga, Ontario

Portico is a regional church that truly reflects the demographic mosaic of our region. Our church family consists of people of all ages, from all walks of life and from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.

Many just like you often comment that although a large number of people celebrate together here on weekends, a church family of our size has some tremendous benefits. Each and every one has the opportunity to be involved in something of significance through the broad range of opportunities and programs, while at the same time allowing every individual to pursue their own journey to build an authentic relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

As you get plugged in, you will soon build relationships that are personal and authentic. Through every age there is a network of small groups of people who meet regularly to explore and discuss the issues and challenges of life and to pray with and care for one another.

Together we’re striving to make a difference in people’s lives – in all walks and stages of life. It’s our vision to equip and empower people to be who God created them to be, and in so doing, become dynamic and relevant expressions of Jesus Christ in every sphere of influence: in our homes, our neighbourhoods and our places of work.

Although Portico had always been a missionary-minded church, it was during Rev. Evon Horton’s tenure (1992 – 2001) that PORTICO began hosting ethnic churches (Spanish, Egyptian, Chinese) which clearly reflected the growing demographic of the Mississauga area.

In June 2001, Rev. Doug Rhind accepted the call to become Senior Pastor of Portico.

As God continues to lead us, we will continue to be His voice, His hands, His feet, expressing His love to the community of Mississauga and beyond.

Community Pentecostal Church

Ottawa, Ontario

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer anyone. (Colossians 4:4-6)

The Community School of Missions is one of three streams of the Community School of Ministry, which takes place on Monday evenings at CPC. It is a three-phase discipleship training school designed to train, equip, and make disciples of Christ and then to send them to be disciple-makers both here and around the world. Our goal is to be constantly training locally and active globally.

It is a wonderful privilege to come in obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ and to become a Disciple of Jesus. Jesus is the Answer to today’s troubled world. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. It is for this reason that He told His disciples to go into the world and preach the good news to all creation. This year, CPC Missions has embraced the theme: “GO TELL” to continue with the mandate that our Lord Jesus Christ left with us. Let us go tell all who do not know that Jesus is the Answer.
